As a certified home stager the biggest mistake I see in small spaces is over doing the space. A large sectional plus end tables, a chair, and ottoman just takes up all your space and looks cluttered.

Instead try a streamlined sofa, nesting table, and open-leg furniture. This can make a room feel less crowded because the floor remains visible.

A properly sized rug also helps define the seating area without visually chopping up the room.

Tip: Pull furniture slightly away from the walls for a layout that feels more deliberate.
