When my seller inherited this home, they lived out of state. Like a lot of families, they weren't ready to decide right away, so they rented it out for a year while they figured out what made sense.

This local Shred-A-Thon is a practical way to safely dispose of old documents while supporting the Kyrene Family Resource Center. Cereal and granola bars are the most needed donations right now, but other nonperishable food items are also welcome.

A local Shred-A-Thon is giving Phoenix residents a chance to get rid of old documents while helping provide food for families in our community.

📍 Kyrene Monte Vista Elementary School
15221 S Ray Road, Phoenix
📅 Saturday, October 10, 2026
⏰ 9:00–11:00 AM

The event will have an on-site shred truck and box truck for document shredding.

But there’s another important part of the event: food donations for the Kyrene Family Resource Center.

If you’re planning to bring a box of documents to shred, please consider bringing one food item per box shredded.

⭐ The two items most needed right now are:
• Cereal
• Granola bars

Other needed items include pretzels, Goldfish, Cheez-Its, fruit cups, pasta, pasta sauce, canned tuna or chicken, dry beans, and peanut butter.

It’s a simple way to do two things at once: clear out those old papers and help stock the pantry for local families.

Closing a chapter. Opening a new one. 🏡

I just sold my home.

After 30+ years, it's someone else's now. And I'm okay with that, more than okay, actually.

For a long time, this house held everything I needed it to hold. It was the right home for that season of my life. But seasons change. Life shifts. And sometimes the bravest thing you can do is acknowledge that what once fit perfectly... doesn't anymore.

My home was beautiful. It was spacious. It held memories in every corner. But it also had rooms I wasn't using, space I wasn't living in, and a rhythm that no longer matched my life.

So I let it go.

And in doing that, I'm stepping into something lighter. Simpler. More aligned with who I am now, not who I was then.
