HURRICANE ISAIAS RECAP… WHAT A WEEK! 🌀😵💫
What an emotional roller coaster!
When forecasts showed Isaias potentially passing RIGHT OVER OUR HOME as a Category 3 or 4, we got to WORK! Filled 50 sandbags, secured our property, packed up, and hauled butt to Jasper, FL!
Y’all, it was physically, mentally, and spiritually EXHAUSTING. We prayed constantly for our family, friends, neighbors, and clients who stayed behind, not knowing what we’d come home to. 🙏
Thankfully, Isaias weakened before landfall, but the destruction was still heartbreaking.
Shayne and Jessie had a MASSIVE tree fall beside their home, miraculously landing on the vacant lot instead. Had it fallen the other direction, the outcome could’ve been devastating. God’s protection is something I’ll NEVER take for granted! ❤️
We returned to find our home unharmed, just a metric TON of tree debris! 😂 Since then, it’s been nonstop cleaning up, checking on loved ones, and helping clients navigate storm damage.
To the linemen, first responders, cleanup crews, neighbors, and everyone helping restore our community, THANK YOU! 🫶
This experience reinforced that homes and belongings can be replaced, but our loved ones cannot.
It also reminded me how much I appreciate ICE, AC, hot showers, coffee, and WiFi! 😂 GOODNESS GRACIOUS!
And can we talk about GARY?! 🤩 This man somehow made an incredibly stressful experience FUN! He’s LOVING retirement, and watching him play with his Gator and sweeper like a kid with new toys makes my heart smile. I’m so grateful I get to do life with him! ❤️
Despite the exhaustion, my heart is FULL. I have family to love, a home to maintain, clients to serve, and a community worth showing up for.
Living in paradise is HARD WORK sometimes, but doing it alongside the love of my life? Worth every bit of it!
God is SO good, and I am SO grateful! 🙏💓
