While attempting to enter the crawlspace of a rural property in southeast Arkansas, I heard Kevin B. McPherson almost casually mention the word "snake";
He was so chill in his delivery that I thought that he must have spotted a discarded snakeskin or possibly a king snake of some sort. What didn't expect was a 6' long , 10 year old timber rattlesnake easing his way through the exact pile of leaves I was layin in and directly towards the exact same crawlspace access I was attempting to navigate. As gross tonnage + pointy fangs= right of way, I stood by and let him pass; mice should not be an issue at this old homestead.
