Sometimes the best moments in the field are the unexpected ones. One of our survey crews at Kearl Lake recently had a visit from a curious fox.

Working across such diverse landscapes means wildlife awareness is an important part of being prepared in the field. Staying observant, maintaining a safe distance, and respecting wildlife and their habitat helps protect both our people and the animals we encounter.

For our teams, safety is about more than the task at hand. It’s about understanding and respecting the environment we’re working in. A pretty great reminder of who really calls the jobsite home.

We know talent when we see it. Sometimes, it’s still wearing a backpack.

On October 14 & 15, LN will be at the NAIT Hiring Fair, meeting the next generation of people who will help build, map, design, investigate and understand the world around us.

If you’re wondering what comes after NAIT, come talk to us. Bring your questions. Bring your curiosity. Bring your resume if you’ve got one.

We’ll bring the LN team.

Today isn't really about turkey, pie, or long weekends. It's about recognizing the things that often go unnoticed.

The early mornings. The long drives. The field notes. The markups. The testing. The challengine locates. The problem-solving calls. The crews who stay until it's done. The office teams who keep everything moving behind the scenes.

Every project, every client relationship, and every success is built on thousands of small contributions that rarely make it into the spotlight.

This Thanksgiving, we're thankful for the people who show up, do great work, support one another, and help build something bigger than themselves.

Happy Thanksgiving from all of us at LN.

Yesterday, our Edmonton team came together for a potluck Thanksgiving lunch, sharing great food, plenty of laughs, and even better company. Just like any good family, taking the time to gather around the table reminds us how thankful we are for the people who make LN such a great place to work!

Graffiti? Not quite.

This aerial image shows a network of utility markings covering an inner-city street. While they may look random from above, every line, symbol, and colour serves a purpose.

These markings help identify underground infrastructure before excavation begins, protecting critical services and helping projects proceed safely and efficiently.

This is the work of LN's Locate team, whose expertise helps contractors know what's below before breaking ground. It's a critical service that reduces risk, prevents costly utility strikes, and keeps projects moving forward safely.

Today we honour the children who never returned home, recognize the Survivors of residential schools, and reflect on the lasting impacts felt by Indigenous families and communities.

As a certified Indigenous member-owned business, LN recognizes that reconciliation is an ongoing journey of listening, learning, relationship building, and meaningful action.

Every Child Matters.
