🎉 29 Years at Williams County Abstract Company! 🎉
October 29, 1997. I had absolutely NO idea what I was getting myself into when I walked into Williams County Abstract Company for an interview. I was a toddler mom, a full-time college student, and looking for a part-time job that would fit into my already busy life. Thanks to my college advisor, I landed an interview with John, the owner at the time. I got the job and started the very next day!
Little did I know that this job would become such a huge part of my life. What started as a part-time position turned into a career that has taken me through just about every aspect of the title business. From filing papers and running courthouse searches to abstracting, title insurance, closings, office management, and eventually owning the company, there have been plenty of learning experiences, challenges, and adventures along the way.
On July 1, 2015, I officially became the owner of Williams County Abstract Company. Taking that leap was both exciting and a little terrifying, but it was one of the biggest decisions of my life. Eleven years later, I can honestly say I’m proud of what we’ve built and the people who have been part of the journey.
And here we are, 29 years after I first walked through those doors! The real estate industry has changed a LOT over the years, and there have certainly been some ups and downs. There have been new challenges, new technology, plenty of paperwork (because, of course! 😂), and more than a few moments that have tested my patience. But there is something pretty special about doing work that matters, serving our community, and helping people through some of the biggest transactions of their lives.
Being named Business Partner of the Year for 2026 was just the icing on the cake!
I absolutely could not have done this without the support of my family, my amazing team, and the wonderful customers, real estate agents, lenders, attorneys, and industry partners who continue to put their trust in us. Your support means more than you know, and I am incredibly grateful for every person who has been part of this journey.
Who would have thought that nervous girl walking in for an interview in 1997 would still be here 29 years later — and own the place?! 😂
What a ride it’s been, and I wouldn’t trade the journey for anything!
