I absolutely 𝒍𝒐𝒗𝒆𝒅 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒉𝒊𝒔𝒕𝒐𝒓𝒊𝒄 𝒄𝒉𝒂𝒓𝒎 of this little town! From the quaint streets and unique boutiques to antique shops, bookstores, and so many cute places to explore, there is something around every corner.

𝗔𝗻𝗱 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗙𝗢𝗢𝗗! 😍 So many amazing restaurants and dining options. We also loved walking down by the lake and seeing the adorable little lighthouse!

𝗢𝗻𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗼 𝗸𝗲𝗲𝗽 𝗶𝗻 𝗺𝗶𝗻𝗱 𝘄𝗵𝗲𝗻 𝗽𝗹𝗮𝗻𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝘃𝗶𝘀𝗶𝘁:
During the slower season, many shops are closed on Mondays and Tuesdays, so definitely check ahead if shopping is on your list!

Mount Dora has so much character, and I can definitely see us coming back! ❤️

If you're planning a trip to Mount Dora, this is something I would definitely recommend doing as soon as you arrive!

We took a tour with the 𝗠𝗼𝘂𝗻𝘁 𝗗𝗼𝗿𝗮 𝗖𝗮𝗿𝗿𝗶𝗮𝗴𝗲 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗽𝗮𝗻𝘆, and it was such a fun experience! ❤️

It's a horseless, electric carriage that takes you through the charming downtown area while sharing some of the history and interesting facts about Mount Dora.

𝗠𝘆 𝗿𝗲𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗺𝗲𝗻𝗱𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻? Do this first! It's a great way to get familiar with the area, learn a little history, and spot places you'll want to come back and explore on foot!

Such a unique experience and definitely one of the highlights of our visit!

If you love history, beautiful lake views, and charming small towns, you’ll want to know about 𝗟𝗮𝗸𝗲𝘀𝗶𝗱𝗲 𝗜𝗻𝗻 𝗶𝗻 𝗠𝗼𝘂𝗻𝘁 𝗗𝗼𝗿𝗮, 𝗙𝗹𝗼𝗿𝗶𝗱𝗮! 🌴

Built in 1883, Lakeside Inn is the 𝗼𝗹𝗱𝗲𝘀𝘁 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗻𝘂𝗼𝘂𝘀𝗹𝘆 𝗼𝗽𝗲𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝗵𝗼𝘁𝗲𝗹 𝗶𝗻 𝗙𝗹𝗼𝗿𝗶𝗱𝗮 and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Over 140 years of history! 😍

We recently stayed here and wanted to share what we LOVED, along with a few things worth knowing before you book!

❤️ 𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝘄𝗲 𝗹𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗱:
✨ The history and old Florida charm! You really feel like you're stepping back in time.
🌅 The lake views are absolutely incredible! We booked a room with panoramic views, and it did not disappoint.
🚶‍♀️ Downtown Mount Dora is literally about a ONE-minute walk away! Restaurants, boutiques, antique shops, and so much more.
🍽️ The food at the hotel's restaurant was AMAZING!
🏊‍♀️ A beautiful, spacious pool overlooking the lake.

📝 𝗔 𝗳𝗲𝘄 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗴𝘀 𝘁𝗼 𝗸𝗻𝗼𝘄 𝗯𝗲𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗲 𝗯𝗼𝗼𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗴:
▪️ The pool is NOT heated, so keep that in mind depending on the time of year.
▪️ Poolside drink service is not available on Sundays or Mondays.
▪️ The property has several buildings that were added over the years, so your room may be a little walk from the main check-in area.
▪️ There are NO elevators, so if stairs are an issue, be sure to ask about room location when booking.

We absolutely loved the history, location, views, and charm of Lakeside Inn! It's not your typical modern hotel, and that's part of what makes it special. Just know what to expect before you go!

Would we recommend it? Absolutely, especially if you appreciate historic properties and being able to walk right into downtown!
