Festivities will include a tour of several historical sites in downtown Warrensburg with a “storyteller” at each location to relate one of Cockrell’s colorful stories from the 1930s and 40s.
The literary tour begins at 10:00 am at the former site of the Cockrell Home, 206 E. Market St. (now Brightspeed). Bruce Uhler and Roger Coleman will lead the tours.
"Storytellers” include Dan Brigman, Mollie Dinwiddie, Lisa Irle, Robin Osborne, Scott Umphrey, Gordon Hecht, and Elizabeth Coleman. In the event of rain, the tour will be rescheduled to Saturday, Nov. 7.
Reservations would be helpful. If you plan to participate, send your name and the number of people accompanying you to [email protected]. This is primarily a walking tour, but you may also drive to the storytelling sites.
