The market is shifting on the South Shore. 🏡

In September, single-family homes took longer to sell across all three towns. Wantagh nearly doubled to 47 days on market, Bellmore jumped to 40 days, and Merrick held steady at 31. Inventory is up too, with 58 homes for sale in Bellmore and 44 in Wantagh.

With 30-year fixed rates now over 7.5%, buyers are taking their time, and that gives them more room to negotiate. Prices are still holding strong, though: Wantagh's median rose 7.3% to $847,500 and Merrick's rose 6.3% to $975,000.
