Sudden Sailing SV Sudden, a 1980's Tartan Ten is nearing the end of the rebuild process. View the progress and my work.

This project started in 2005, when I purchased a 1980 Tartan Ten flush deck racer off eBay sight unseen. It was unknown at the time but a marine surveyor informed me that the core was soaked and rotted from the water line down in most parts of the boat, so instead of scrapping the boat, I embarked on the rebuild. Since early grade school I wanted to build a boat, so here was the chance to build a boat that was already designed and the hull formed. As you look through the picts, notice there is not a single nut or bolt that hasn't been replaced.

It’s been about four years since we launched Sudden. During these years we raced her at the Melbourne Yacht Club every other weekend, all year. We have four Race seasons here. Each are about 6 to 7 races. Well, last season we finally took first place! Thanks to Aaron Ressler for all his expertise and guidance.
