"You can't buy a home with a bad credit score"

Have you heard this before? I know it can be discouraging, but there are a few things you can do to prep for home-buying if you fall into this category. Like anything, the main key is preparation and setting your expectations properly when beginning the process. Three tips to keep in mind are:

1. Plan to put down more cash.
2. Budget for a higher interest rate and mortgage payment.
3. Automate payments to ensure they are paid on time!

Know where you want to be, have steady and secure income, and ready for the responsibilities of homeownership? It's a great time to invest in property.⁠

✔️ What does the lender need from me to give me a loan?⁠
Generally, last two tax returns, recent bank and credit card statements and proof of your current pay rate. ⁠

✔️ How do I know if I qualify for a loan and how much I can afford?⁠

Now that I’ve had a chance to sit and reflect, I’m so humbled to share that I had the privilege of being nominated for the Greater Baton Rouge Association of Realtors 2021 Rising Star Of The Year Award. Having the chance to be in the room with so many inspiring and motivating industry leaders was an experience I don’t take lightly.

Getting to share the moment with my amazing daughter and rockstar broker was the icing on top 🍰 !

This was such a special reminder that any goal is achievable with the right mindset ✨
