Today is World Cerebral Palsy Day, and this one is personal. 💚

During my pregnancy with our twins, they developed twin to twin transfusion syndrome (TTTS), a serious complication that ultimately resulted in our daughter's cerebral palsy diagnosis.

Cerebral palsy looks different for everyone, with varying degrees of severity and different challenges for each person. No two people with CP experience it quite the same way.

Ruth works incredibly hard every single day to train her muscles to do things most of us never have to think twice about. Hours of therapy, endless practice, and so much determination. She is, without question, the hardest working little girl I know.

She's also the funniest person in our house. Full of personality, laughter, and a sense of humor that keeps us all on our toes.

Cerebral palsy is part of Ruth's story, but it certainly isn't all of who she is.

My hope in sharing a little of her story is to help build more understanding of cerebral palsy and the many different ways it affects people. Awareness matters, but so does inclusion, accessibility, and the way we treat people with disabilities in our everyday lives. Every person deserves the opportunity to participate, belong, and be seen for who they are, not just the challenges they face or equipment they carry along.

Closing prep on this beautiful home in Wasilla.

Heading into the final week before closing, and this is when a lot of the quieter details of a transaction start coming together. I’m wrapping up inspection items, reviewing final settlement statements, coordinating signings and making sure everything that needs to stay with the home is accounted for before keys change hands.

Most of this happens behind the scenes, but there’s quite a bit that takes place between “pending” and "closed".
