What can an old Jeep teach you about selling your home?
I recently bought an old Jeep for a family off-roading trip.
Like most old Jeeps, it needed a lot of work. I had a long wish list that included a new stereo, a new back seat, and a fresh paint job. But time was limited, so I focused on what mattered most—a working transmission and a reliable motor.
The result? A great trip and some wonderful memories. No stereo required!
Preparing a home to sell isn't all that different.
There's always something you could improve, but that doesn't mean you should. When I work with sellers, I focus on the things that matter most to buyers at their price point. Sometimes that's decluttering, deep cleaning, fresh paint, or replacing something that's worn out.
You don't have to fix everything. You just have to fix the right things.
Now I'm curious: What's one thing around your house you've been putting off fixing because you just don't want to spend the money?
