Last week I had the honor of joining my fellow volunteer mentors from the SCORE Ventura Chapter for a celebration brunch at Honey & Herb Waffle House in Newbury Park — and I left with a full heart. 🧇🥤
This gathering was meaningful for several reasons. It was a recognition of the real impact SCORE Ventura mentors have made across Ventura County's small business community. It was also special because Honey & Herb Waffle House itself is a SCORE Ventura client and one of the chapter's 2025 award recipients for significant business achievement and growth. Seeing a local business thrive and then host the very mentors who are part of that ecosystem — that's a full-circle moment worth celebrating. 🤩
I've been volunteering with SCORE Ventura since 2016, and I bring my 25+ years in residential real estate to those mentoring conversations, along with experience from launching my own wholesale business and working with several Fortune 500 companies. The questions entrepreneurs bring — about growth, cash flow, marketing, client acquisition, and adapting to a shifting economy — are ones where that depth of experience can make a real difference. ✨🎇
What SCORE gives back to me is just as real. Staying connected to the people building businesses throughout this county makes me a sharper, more grounded real estate professional. Real estate is never just about houses. It's about community, financial confidence, and long-term decision-making. Being embedded in that business community keeps me connected to what matters.
Staying connected to the people building businesses throughout this county makes me a sharper, more grounded real estate professional — and it’s a reminder of why I care about this community the way I do. If you’re thinking about buying, selling, or navigating a real estate decision in the Conejo Valley or Ventura County, I’d love to be a resource for you.
