Big changes are coming to Old Fitzhugh Road in Downtown Dripping Springs!
After years of planning, the $8.9 million improvement project is moving forward. Plans include a shared-use pedestrian and bike path, improved drainage, lighting, parking, and traffic calming measures, all while preserving the historic charm of the street.
I'm excited about the potential of this project. Better walkability means easier access to downtown events, more foot traffic for local businesses, and opportunities for new small businesses to thrive. Connecting Mercer Street and Old Fitzhugh Road could really help create a more cohesive, vibrant, and walkable downtown while keeping the small-town character we all love.
The contractor has been selected, and construction starts soon. Completion is anticipated in spring 2028.
Join the Old Fitzhugh Improvement Project Stakeholders Meeting tonight, Monday, October 26, at 6 PM at Dripping Springs Ranch Park.
