7 YEARS. Countless homes. Hundreds of memories and more gratitude than I could ever put into words. 🏡❤️
7 years ago today, I officially became a licensed REALTOR®. At the time, I had no idea just how much this career would change my life, how many incredible people it would bring into it, or how many pieces of my heart I'd leave along the way.
It wasn't until about 6 years ago, when I made the move to Daunno Realty, that my career really began to blossom and what a journey it has been.
There have been incredible highs, heartbreaking lows, moments of self-doubt, sleepless nights, happy tears, frustrating days and days that reminded me exactly why I chose this path. This career has challenged me, humbled me, pushed me to grow, and rewarded me in ways that have absolutely nothing to do with a paycheck.
Somewhere along the way, I realized that real estate isn't really just about selling houses. It is about the people and the stories behind every front door.
It's about the first-time buyer who never thought homeownership would be possible. The growing family searching for a little more room to make memories. The couple starting their next chapter together. The investor taking a chance on their future. The family saying goodbye to a home that holds memories of birthdays, holidays, laughter and love. The downsizer closing the door on one chapter while bravely opening another.
Every transaction has a story. Every home has a history. Every person I've had the privilege of helping has left a little something with me.
I have been welcomed into people's homes, their families, their celebrations, and sometimes even their most difficult moments. I've witnessed excitement, uncertainty, tears, relief, and pure happiness. I've had clients share their dreams with me, lean on me during stressful times, and trust me with decisions that represent some of the biggest moments of their lives.
And that trust is something I will never, ever take for granted.
There's something about this career that I don't think you can fully understand unless you've lived it. You spend weeks, sometimes months, talking to people nearly every single day. You learn about their families, their children, their jobs, their hopes, their fears, their routines, and all the little things that make them who they are.
You become a small part of each other's everyday lives.
And then, one day, you sit across from them at a closing table. The papers are signed, the keys are handed over and you watch them walk away into this beautiful new chapter you've worked so hard to help them reach.
And while I'm genuinely so happy for them, there's always this little bittersweet feeling that comes with it.
Because if I'm being completely real, one of the hardest parts of real estate for me is the quiet that comes after closing day.
The phone calls slow down. The daily texts stop. The constant communication that became such a normal part of your life suddenly slow down.
And of course, that's the goal. That's the happy ending we've been working toward all along.
But sometimes, I miss them.
I miss the updates, the conversations, the laughs, the excitement, and even the chaos of getting to the finish line. It's a strange thing to spend so much time being part of someone's life and then have to learn how to take a little step back once they've reached their destination. I love when I get a random text message or a picture of how someone turned their house into a home, a paint color updated... new couch delivered. Christmas lights hung for their 1st holiday season. I thrive in the small moments.
That's also one of the most beautiful parts of what I do. I get to help people begin chapters that will continue long after my part in their story is finished.
For many our story doesn't end at the closing table.
I've been fortunate enough to be invited to baby showers, weddings, backyard barbecues, birthday celebrations, and countless other moments that have absolutely nothing to do with real estate. I've watched families grow, friendships form and people living in their dreams.
Some of the people who started out as complete strangers have become lifelong friends. I've also gained incredible friendships with coworkers and people I've met throughout this industry who have supported me, encouraged me, and made the difficult days a little easier and the wonderful days even better.
Those are the things that mean the most to me.
Not the number of houses I've sold. Not the transactions I've closed. Not the milestones I've reached.
It is the wholesomeness of the people.
To every single person who has ever trusted me with their home, their future, their family, or even just a question along the way, thank you.
To everyone who has referred my name when I wasn't in the room, shared one of my listings, recommended me to a friend, cheered me on, or believed in me when I may have needed it most, please know that I appreciate you more than you could possibly imagine.
You have helped me build something I am incredibly proud of and I don't ever want to forget that I wouldn't be here without you.
I often tell my clients how grateful I am that they allowed me to be even the smallest chapter in their story.
But what I don't think they realize is that while I was busy helping them write their next chapter, they were unknowingly helping me write mine.
Every conversation, every challenge, every friendship, every celebration, every lesson, and every goodbye has helped shape not only the REALTOR® I've become, but the person I am today.
And that is something I will carry with me forever.
Seven years later, I still get excited about a new listing. I still get butterflies when an offer gets accepted. I still feel the nerves when things don't go as planned. I still celebrate the little victories, and I still feel that overwhelming sense of happiness when I get to hand someone the keys to their next chapter. If you've worked with me in the past you know if my eyes are open I am answering your calls and text. Real Estate is not a 9 to 5 to me, it is a lifestyle.
So here's to 7 years of opening doors, building relationships, making memories, learning lessons, shedding tears, sharing laughs, and finding pieces of my heart in places I never expected.
To every client, friend, colleague, and person who has been part of this journey, thank you for allowing me to do something I love, for trusting me with moments that matter and for leaving your own little mark on my life.
I hope that in some small way, I've made as much of a difference in yours as you've made in mine.
And before I finish, I have to give a very special thank you to the incredible team of people who stand beside me and make all of this possible.
My attorney, my title company, my lender, my home inspector, my broker and every professional who works alongside me to get our clients across that finish line. I could never do what I do without you.
Real estate may have my name on the sign, but behind every successful closing is a team of people working tirelessly, solving problems, answering questions, calming nerves, putting out fires and going above and beyond to make sure everything comes together.
I have been so incredibly fortunate to surround myself with people who don't just care about getting a transaction closed, but genuinely care about the people on the other side of it. People who answer my calls, even when I've probably called them a hundred times that day. People who show up, step up, and give their very best, even when things get complicated.
You don't just help me do my job. You help me be better at it. You help me grow, you help me succeed, and you help me turn what was once just a dream of mine into a career I am unbelievably proud of.
And perhaps the most beautiful part is that while you're helping me make my dreams come true, you're helping make the dreams of every single family we work with come true, too.
Every set of keys handed over, every relieved smile at the closing table, every family who finally gets to call a house their home... those moments belong to my team just as much as they belong to me.
My success has never been mine alone. It has been built on the trust, hard work, loyalty, dedication, and heart of the incredible people who continue to stand beside me.
I hope you all know how deeply I appreciate you, how much I value our relationships and how grateful I am that I get to walk this journey with you.
Because the truth is, I may be the face my clients see, but behind me is a team of people who help make the magic happen behind the scenes and I wouldn't be where I am today without each and every one of you. ❤️
Here's to the chapters we've written together, the friendships that will last long after the keys have changed hands, the people who make it all possible, and all the beautiful stories still waiting to unfold.
Cheers to 7 years and hopefully a whole lot more. 🥂❤️🏡
