Tour a Baltimore rowhome and love the finished basement at first glance?

Before you count that lower level as bonus living space, verify four things: moisture history, actual ceiling clearance, safe egress, and whether it adds day to day function, not just listed square footage.

In Baltimore, basement value can swing fast from one house to the next, so I look past the finish materials early.
