As 50-years local business owners deeply invested in Tallahassee’s future, the Ghazvini family has spent decades building relationships, serving our community, and contributing to the city we call home. We believe Tallahassee deserves leadership built on integrity, accountability, and a commitment to putting its residents first—not outside money or special interests.
Last year, Matlow met with us to seek financial and political support. We declined because we fundamentally disagree with his aggressive political positions and the direction we believe he would take our city. Contrary to the account he presented in the Tallahassee Democrat, our meeting was respectful and cordial. The discrepancy between his account and our recollection raises serious questions about his credibility.
After we declined to financially support his campaign, Matlow turned against us and our businesses. We will not be pressured into supporting a candidate whose positions conflict with our values, nor will we be intimidated into silence for exercising our right to disagree.
Tallahassee voters deserve answers—not political spin.
The recently reported $200,000 in contributions from California-based sources, along with reports of approximately $600,000 in total contributions from out-of-state and other sources since 2020, raises legitimate questions about who is financing Matlow’s political efforts, what interests those contributors represent, and what they hope to influence in Tallahassee.
Our city’s future should not be shaped by outside financial interests operating beyond our community. Voters deserve transparency about where campaign money comes from, who is behind it, and why outside interests are seeking to influence local decisions.
Matlow’s attacks on our family and our businesses will not silence us. We will not back down, we will not be intimidated, and we will not stop demanding answers. Tallahassee deserves leaders who welcome accountability—not candidates who attack those who question them.
Our commitment is to Tallahassee and the people who call it home. After 50 years of doing business in this community, we will continue to stand firm in defending its interests, demanding transparency, and opposing outside influence that puts anything ahead of the people of our city. Tallahassee’s future belongs to Tallahassee—not outside money.
