💰 MONEY-SAVING MONDAY
🍂 3 little settings that could help lower your energy use this fall!
Before you start cranking up the heat, take a few minutes to check these around your home:
🧊 CHECK YOUR REFRIGERATOR
Aim for about 37°F for your refrigerator and 0°F for your freezer. Setting them unnecessarily colder can use extra energy without doing your food any favors.
🌡️ CHECK YOUR THERMOSTAT
When you're home and awake, around 68°F is a common starting point during heating season. Lowering the temperature when you're sleeping or away can help reduce heating costs—just keep your household's comfort, pets and plumbing needs in mind.
🔥 CHECK YOUR WATER HEATER
Many households can use a setting around 120°F. A higher setting can mean more energy used to keep that water hot—and it can increase the risk of scalding.
✨ BONUS FALL TIP: Check your HVAC filter while you're at it! A dirty filter can restrict airflow and make your system work harder.
Little adjustments can add up—and they don't cost a thing! 🏡💰
