We broke ground!
This is an exciting milestone for Sumter Habitat for Humanity as we officially celebrate the groundbreaking of our Senior Cottages! Safe, affordable homes designed to help our aging neighbors live with greater stability, independence, and peace of mind.
We are especially grateful for our partnership with Gainey Construction, whom we contracted with to help bring these cottages to life effectively and efficiently so our future residents can begin moving in as soon as possible. Their expertise and commitment are helping us turn plans on paper into homes that will make a lasting difference.
And we’re already looking ahead! Planning for 2027 is underway, including expanded floor plans designed to better meet the needs of the seniors we serve.
This is about more than building cottages. It’s about making sure our aging neighbors have a SAFE, affordable place to call home right here in Sumter.
