Houston, thanks for the sunshine and Fall temps this week! This Guest House from our Spanish Hacienda project is ready for another sun-kissed weekend filled with lounging, a little daydreaming, and a whole lot of gratitude.

Starting sheetrock is always an exciting milestone on each of our projects. On this home in particular, drywall going up highlights the talent and expertise of each team behind this incredible collaboration and sets the stage for what is still to come, from the thoughtful architectural details drawn by Reagan & André Architecture Studio, to the precision craftsmanship and ex*****on of Luxury Custom Homes In Houston, to the beautifully curated and layered interior finishes conceived by Benjamin Johnston Design.

We hope you enjoy this behind-the-scenes glimpse into what it takes to bring extraordinary homes to life - and join us in celebrating this milestone!

Introducing Small Detail, Big Impact - our new series celebrating the thoughtful architectural details that may seem subtle at first glance, but can completely elevate a space. Not only do we highlight the finished details, but we take a look at the craftsmanship required to successfully achieve them.

First up: an artful serpentine ceiling detail, paired with a beautifully structured reading alcove in our English Manor Primary Bedroom.

It’s a perfect example of how thoughtful design doesn’t always have to be grand to make a lasting impression or create the perfect vibe. Sometimes, it’s the smallest details that make a home truly unique.

At critical milestones throughout each of our builds, our team walks the project together - putting our collective decades of experience to good use checking every detail.

One of our most important walk-throughs? Pre-Sheetrock. It’s our chance to catch the details we can no longer see once the walls are closed - and get them right before they disappear.

It’s just another way that we BUILD WITH INTENTION.

We love what we do, and we hope it shows through the care we put towards each and every one of our homes!

There is nothing like watching the frame of a complex, large-scale custom home take shape. Both before and during this stage, we as the custom builder work diligently to ensure constructability of all architectural and engineering plans as well as set the remainder of construction on a path towards success. So grateful we get to see the tangible fruits of our labor on each of our projects!

The closeout process for any custom home can be a grueling labor of love, so a Sims team walk-through at the end of a project is such a treat. Grateful for our homeowners, our design partners, our talented craftsmen, and each other as we share in the incredible work we collectively achieved on this River Oaks home.
