DON’T BE AFRAID OF YOUR CREDIT SCORE!
Your credit score doesn’t have to be perfect to start working toward homeownership!
Improving your credit doesn’t require a big salary. Small, consistent steps can make a difference!
Here are 5 simple ways to improve your credit score, even on a tight budget.
1. Pay Your Bills on Time.
Set reminders or automatic payments to avoid missing due dates. Even paying the minimum on time helps!
2. Start Small With Credit Card Balances.
Try paying an extra $10–$20 each payday. Every little bit helps reduce what you owe.
3. Keep Credit Card Balances Low.
Aim to use less than 30% of your available credit. Lower is even better!
4. Check Your Credit Report for Free.
Visit AnnualCreditReport.com to review your reports and dispute any errors you find.
5. Avoid Applying for Too Much New Credit.
Only apply when necessary. Too many applications in a short period can temporarily lower your score.
Remember: Your credit score is a starting point, not a stopping point!
