Oklahoma FFA Association led the title count in five major award groups at the 99th National FFA Convention earlier this month in Indianapolis, with 17 national titles! Oklahoma FFA members earned one American Star award, five Proficiency Awards, two team championships and nine Agriscience Fair championships to finish ahead of Texas and California.

“We may have a smaller population, but we have outstanding students and agriculture instructors who challenge and encourage them every day," said Trevor Lucas, Oklahoma FFA executive secretary with Oklahoma CareerTech. "These national honors reflect the teaching and learning taking place in agricultural education programs across our state.”

No tricks here! 🎃 Oklahoma CareerTech is driving growth across the state by serving individuals, businesses and communities through its five delivery arms: PK-12 school districts, technology centers, skills centers, business and industry, and adult education and family literacy. In FY25, we had more than 517,000 enrollments, achieved a 94% positive placement rate, and served 10,600+ businesses.

And while numbers speak volumes, we know there are countless success stories that are less quantifiable but no less noteworthy. Like the FFA, DECA, HOSA or other student organization officer who finds their confidence during competition. Or the small business owner who expands their operation by hiring CareerTech grads. Or the adult learner who attends tech center classes to build on (or change!) their careers. CareerTech prepares students for careers in public safety through hands-on training that builds the knowledge, confidence, and technical skills needed to answer the call.

When Oklahoma needs more nurses, CareerTech responds.

Tulsa Tech expanded its Practical Nursing program to welcome 140 future nurses each year, nearly doubling its previous capacity. New program options, hands-on simulation labs, strong healthcare partnerships, and an accelerated bridge program are helping more students enter the nursing profession while addressing the region's long-standing workforce needs.

The results speak for themselves. Last year, Tulsa Tech's Practical Nursing graduates achieved a 98% NCLEX board pass rate, preparing highly skilled nurses to serve patients across Oklahoma.

CareerTech doesn't just educate future nurses. It strengthens healthcare, supports employers, and helps meet the workforce needs of Oklahoma communities.
