My recent sale on 12 Acres in Rogersville 🏡 🦌🦃🦊🎣🦅 don’t listen to the national news, our real estate market is not doom as gloom! We are experiencing medium home prices up from last year, as well as increases in total sales volume. Part of this is an AutoCorrect market, which is not a bad thing, but plenty of inventory and buyers are still out there shopping in our local market! Is the housing market in trouble? Not according to our local numbers!

As of Oct. 26, the Greater Springfield Board of REALTORS reported 2,610 active listings, the most since 2016. But that’s up only about 2% from the same week last year (2,559).

September 2026 vs. September 2025 across Greene, Christian and Webster counties:

Homes sold: up 5.9% (553 vs. 522)
Sales volume: up 11.2% ($173.6M vs. $156.1M)
Median sale price: up 5.3% ($289,500 vs. $275,000)
Average days on market: 38, down from 39

More inventory, more sales, higher prices. That’s a market adjusting, not collapsing. Affordability is still a challenge and sellers face more competition, but buyers have more choices, and pricing, condition and marketing matter more than ever.
