During Branson’s Veterans Homecoming Week, College of the Ozarks will dedicate a new POW/MIA Memorial honoring America’s Prisoners of War and those still Missing in Action.

The public is invited. Three former prisoners of war are scheduled to attend, bringing personal meaning to a place dedicated to remembrance, sacrifice and the families still waiting for answers.

🎃 World’s Smallest Halloween Parade
Saturday, October 24 | 4:30 p.m.
Downtown Forsyth

This little parade travels along Main Street to the Taney County Courthouse, with trunk-or-treating afterward. Kids who want to walk in costume should arrive outside Christian Action Ministries at Main Street and Shadowrock Drive by 4:15 p.m.

🚧 Big changes are coming to Branson’s Strip!

Construction on the Highway 76 streetscape project is expected to begin October 26, following approval of a $29.1 million construction contract.

The project includes improved sidewalks and pedestrian crossings, drainage upgrades, buried utilities and upgraded water lines. Construction is expected to take approximately 20 months.

Drivers should expect temporary lane closures and traffic shifts as work progresses. Full roadway closures aren’t expected, and access to businesses and properties will be maintained.

Whether you live here, visit regularly or host vacation rental guests, this is useful information to keep handy.

Before you fall in love with a Branson home, look beyond the mortgage payment.

A few things I want buyers to check:
• The property's actual tax bill
• An insurance quote for that specific home
• HOA or condo dues—and what they cover
• Utilities and room in the budget for maintenance and repairs

If taxes and insurance are already included in your lender's payment estimate, don't count them twice.
