Washington County banned license plate cameras last month.

September 17. The Quorum Court passed Ordinance 2026-054: no county money for automatic license plate readers. Only two justices voted no.
Now look around. Siloam Springs turned its Flock cameras off. Bella Vista is weighing a rule that needs council approval before any camera goes live. Springdale wrote an AI policy to govern them.

Washington County has a big planning night Thursday.

The Planning Board meets Thursday, October 29, at 5 PM at 2721 S. Brink Drive in Fayetteville, in the Election Commission Building by the Road Department.

On the agenda is a proposed construction spoils site on Harp Road, a transitional housing facility near West Fork, and an excavation operation tied to the Highway 112 widening, plus subdivision and replat items and a final large scale development in Prairie Grove.

Bentonville is rewriting how it zones neighborhoods, and you can weigh in Thursday.

Plan Bentonville presents its revised comprehensive plan proposals Thursday, October 29, from 5 to 7 PM.

The big shift: away from conventional use and density zoning, toward place types with mixed housing types at neighborhood scale.

They will decide what kind of homes can go where in Bentonville, and what your street looks like in ten years.

November 5 Fayetteville Council takes up three items that have been waiting.

The deferred appeal at 615 S. Stone Bridge Road. The postponed Weir Road annexation. And the Weir/Rupple planned zoning district.

All three were pushed to this meeting. November 5 is when they get decided. Council meets at 5:30 PM.

58 acres with a playground, pickleball courts, a basketball court, walking paths, restrooms, and small pavilions.

Clabber Creek Trail links it to the Gary Hampton Softball Complex, Holcomb Elementary, and the Wilson Springs nature preserve.

Tonight the Highfill Planning Commission holds a public hearing at 6 PM on rewritten planning and zoning rules, plus a final plat review.

The hearing covers rewritten Title 13 planning regulations, Title 14 zoning regulations, and a revised sign ordinance.

The commission also reviews the final plat for Sterling Estates, at the southeast corner of Vaughn Road and Wright Road.

Meeting: tonight, 6 PM, Council Chambers, Highfill City Hall, 2560 W. Highway 12.
