The one phone call most home buyers never make.

Not 911. The non-emergency line for whoever covers that address. Tell them you're looking to buy there and ask what they'd want you to know. The person who works that beat every day will tell you more than any safety-score website.

Then drive the same route twice, at 10 AM and at 9 PM. Count the dark stretches. Are the street lights working? Do the entrances stay lit? Nobody tours a house at 9 at night.
