Some of our calls start with a family who has found a memory care community and has ten days to get there. If you're the discharge planner, social worker or community staff member who gave them our number, this is what happens next.
We ask the family about their person before we ask about the furniture, starting with what time of day they're usually clearest, and we book the move for those hours. Steven, who leads our crews, knows the layouts of the assisted living and memory care buildings around York and Cumberland counties, so move-in day doesn't begin with a hunt for the right entrance. The resident's own chair and bedding are in place when they arrive.
Then we deal with the place they left. We can clear an apartment before the lease runs out, or store what the family isn't ready to sort.
The family deals with one company from the first call to the empty apartment, and the resident walks into a room that already has their things in it.
Care teams can reach us at 207-502-4035 to talk through how we'd handle a move for one of their residents.
