This is such a cool house and we were very excited to be a part of the recent sell of this house. The new owners are going to bring it back to its true glory.
Happy ! 🏛️✨
Did you know that Tennessee is home to exactly one Frank Lloyd Wright design?
Perched atop Missionary Ridge in Chattanooga, the Seamour & Gerte Shavin House was completed in 1952 and stands as a stunning example of Wright’s signature Usonian philosophy. Commissioned by newlyweds Seamour and Gerte Shavin in 1949, this residential gem seamlessly merges local natural materials—like Crab Orchard freestone masonry and red cypress wood—with its surrounding hillside terrain.
Key highlights of Tennessee's Usonian treasure:
🌲 Designed to bring beautiful, organic modern living to middle-class America.
🌄 Positioned to harmonize effortlessly with the ridge's natural topography.
✨ Features Wright’s classic cantilevered flat roofs, horizontal rhythms, and custom built-in woodwork.
