A name with a reputation and history this strong should actually do something for the people I represent. When I bring a home to market, Sotheby’s International Realty gives that property a much larger stage and connects my local work here in Seattle to relationships far beyond it. When a client is buying, those same connections can become incredibly useful when the search stretches beyond Madison Park, Broadmoor, or even Washington.

Sold at Harvard & Highland ✨

This one is a good reminder that sometimes the smartest move is being willing to change course.

As the market shifted, I sat down with my clients and we looked closely at what the current data was telling us. They were thoughtful, realistic, and willing to make a meaningful $200,000 price adjustment. Within two weeks, we were under contract. Two weeks after that, we closed!

And the home itself is still everything that made it special from the beginning: generous single-level living, two beautiful terraces, gracious entertaining spaces, and the kind of lock-and-leave ease that lets you enjoy Seattle fully when you’re here and leave without a second thought when you’re not.

I’m very grateful to my clients for trusting the process and being willing to respond when the market gave us new information. That made all the difference.

Perhaps the most luxurious room in a home is the one that makes everyone put their phone down.

I loved this recent Sotheby’s International Realty piece on the return of the salon because, here in Madison Park and Broadmoor, the art of the salon never really disappeared. Many of the homes I represent have rooms created expressly for conversation, reading, music, art, and entertaining, and when they’re done well, they have an energy all their own.

The best salons aren’t overly formal or precious. They invite you to settle in, notice the art, pull a book from the shelf, pour a drink, and stay in the conversation a little longer. There’s something wonderfully timeless about a room designed around people rather than a screen.

I see that spirit often in the homes I’m fortunate to represent, and I’m very glad to see the rest of the design world catching up.
