💜 October is Domestic Violence Awareness month & this is an issue deeply important to me...
Domestic violence doesn't start with physical abuse right away. Sometimes, the early warning signs are quieter & harder to recognize—like isolation from friends and family, controlling behavior, constant criticism, or a partner who makes you feel like you have to ask permission to live your life.
I want to share this important message as a survivor of DV myself 💜 And remember that awareness matters, these conversations can make a difference, and no one should have to navigate an abusive relationship alone.
If something feels wrong in your relationship—or you're worried about someone you care about—please know that support is available. You don't have to wait for physical violence to seek help, and you don't have to be ready to leave to deserve support.
💜 If you or someone you know needs help: The National Domestic Violence Hotline is available 24/7 at 800-799-7233 or by texting START to 88788 or at thehotline.org
Let's continue creating a community where people feel safe, supported, and believed. Sometimes, simply listening without judgment can make a bigger difference than we realize. 💜🫶
