❤️ My heart is overflowing with gratitude, love, and a sense of purpose today. ❤️
Today was one of those extraordinary FULL CIRCLE moments in life that I will carry in my heart forever. 🥹💕
I had the incredible privilege of returning to Crossroads, a school where I taught for 10 years, to share my story and the message behind my memoir, Grace Through Fire, with nearly 100 students.
Standing in front of those young people, in the very place where so many chapters of my own life unfolded, was deeply emotional. My message was simple but powerful: Never give up on your dreams. No matter how difficult your circumstances, how many obstacles life throws your way, or how dark a chapter may seem, your story is NOT over. ❤️
What made today even more extraordinary was having one of my former students from 20 years ago standing beside me, sharing her own remarkable journey. To see the incredible woman she has become and to share that stage together was a gift beyond words.
And perhaps one of the most meaningful moments of all… we announced a NEW SCHOLARSHIP for a graduating Crossroads senior! 🎓❤️ This scholarship will help a student continue their education after high school, whether through technical school, learning a skilled trade, or attending community college. Because every young person deserves someone who believes in their potential and their future.
When I wrote Grace Through Fire: A Memoir of Murder, Tragedy, and Resilience, I could never have imagined the doors it would open or the lives it might touch. From teenagers just beginning their journeys to adults in their 80s reflecting on theirs, I am discovering that our stories connect us in ways we may never fully understand.
People will come into and out of our lives through different seasons and chapters. Some will stay for a lifetime, while others may only walk beside us for a short while. But we never truly know the impact we may have on one another.
