Imagine surviving a tornado, only to have your house DEMOLISHED BY MISTAKE. 😳
In 2016, a demolition crew in Rowlett, Texas, was supposed to tear down a tornado-damaged duplex.
Instead, they demolished a DIFFERENT duplex one block away.
The homeowners had been preparing to repair their property. Instead, they arrived to find a pile of rubble.
The explanation? Google Maps had identified the WRONG PROPERTY.
The crew verified the house numbers but failed to confirm the street name.
And here’s the kicker: The demolition company actually sent the homeowners a Google Maps screenshot to explain the mistake.
Imagine losing your entire house because someone didn’t double-check an address. 💀
