Official update: the candy is gone.

All of it. Every bowl, every door, every last fun size.

Saturday, The Forge filled up with tiny witches, small superheroes, and a few parents who were clearly in it for the Bonzai dirty soda. No judgment. It was that good.

To every tenant who handed out treats and every costume that came through the doors, thank you for making it the best afternoon of October.

Pumpkins stacked in the lobby. Little ghosts in the hallways. A bowl of candy at almost every door.

Tomorrow from 12 to 5, The Forge joins downtown Salem’s trick-or-treat. We’ll be handing out treats, and so will many of the businesses inside the building. Bonzai is mixing up a dirty soda just for trick-or-treaters, which might be one of the best stops on the whole route.

If you haven’t been to The Forge on a weekend, consider this your sign.

We stopped by Bonzai’s pumpkin carving contest and walked straight into a gallery opening. Steady hands. Serious focus. A chai in one hand and a carving tool in the other.

There are some real artists in this building. We just didn’t know they were working in pumpkin.

Witchy Wednesday.

October 28. Cellar 54, lights low.

Practical Magic, floor style. Bring your blankets, your pillows, and the friend you’d call at midnight.

Your $39 ticket comes with Butter & Brimstone Popcorn and a choice of our signature mocktails, to sip through the film.

Ten events down this October. Twelve still to go.

This weekend is a good place to jump in.

Friday the 23rd is a full one. The THIS! Funk Show at Bonzai. Jazz and aura readings at Noira (the readings sold out, so the jazz will have to do). And a Halloween skincare party at Studio Roux, because self-care doesn’t stop for spooky season.

Saturday the 24th, Salem Brew Week lands at Bonzai. Sapporo by the pint, the pitcher, or the b**r tower. Your call.
