The back of the house is officially open. 🏠➡️

Big day on our Grant addition: the crew took off the back of the home so the new addition can finally tie into the original house. With the walls framed and the trusses set earlier this week, this is where the old and new become one space.

Swipe to see it from the yard 👉

Would you be brave enough to live there while your back wall comes off? 😅👇

Happy Halloween from Scrappy, Rocky and all of us at Klasic Construction! 🎃

Scrappy and Rocky suited up for Halloween as our hardest-working (and smallest) crew, hard hats and all. 🐾

Scrappy here with your weekend forecast 🐶
🌧️ Sat (Halloween): 57°, cloudy with showers mainly before 4 pm
⛅ Sun: 64°, partly sunny and mild

Scrappy's tip: Swap in bright bulbs on your front steps and walkway, and rake wet leaves off the path, so trick-or-treaters don't trip.

What's the best treat you've ever gotten trick-or-treating? 👇

From the archives: what would you do with one empty little room? 🍷

This past project started as bare plywood walls and a taped-off floor. We finished it with warm wood plank walls, plank-look flooring and a lantern-style light, and it turned into a cozy spot for a w**e fridge and rack.

No crane. Just muscle. 💪

Today on our Grant addition, the crew carried every roof truss in by hand, one at a time, across the yard and into the house. Then, with Mike working a pulley system, each truss was lifted up into the ceiling and set flush with the existing trusses so the roofline carries right out over the new addition.

And a big welcome to our extra helper today, Caleb! 👋

: one empty space, one neon sign, and a whole lot of build-out in between. 🍕

From the archives, a past restaurant build-out for in Maple Grove. The ceilings went up, the tile got laid out, the pizza oven went in, and the old space turned into a warm dining room, front counter and kitchen.

Watch the then & now play out 👀

What's your go-to pizza order? 👇

We've opened up the entire back wall of this house to expand its footprint. 🏡

Out back, the new space is framed and wrapped in plastic while the crew ties the new floor into the existing house and stands up fresh walls. Up front, old windows are coming out to make way for new window and door openings.

Thanks to our crew for another solid day on site. 💪

If you could add space to your home, where would you put it? 👇

Pulled from the photo vault: two past kitchen remodels, one vote. 🗳️

1️⃣ A condo kitchen we finished with bright white counters, dark lower cabinets, floating shelves and a sleek black range hood.
2️⃣ A Roseville kitchen from 2020, with white shaker uppers, dark gray lowers, a raised breakfast bar and three glass pendants.

Swipe 👉 to see both.

The side of a remodel nobody sees. 👀

Demo in a Minneapolis condo isn't as simple as tossing it in a dumpster. Condo buildings come with strict rules: floors and walls protected, elevator time shared with residents, and no dumpster out front.

So every piece of old tile, drywall, carpet and fixtures gets bagged by hand, carted down the hallway, ridden down the elevator floor by floor, and loaded into the truck in the parking garage. Then it's off to the dump and back again… all day long. 🚛

Did you know condo projects came with this many extra steps?

Throwback tip: feel a draft? Seal it before you insulate. 🧰

This past new build in Grant got spray foam between every stud, with the ducts and pipes set before the walls closed. In an existing home, a quick pre-winter check goes a long way:
✅ Basement rim joists, where the floor framing sits on the foundation
✅ Pipe, wire and vent openings into the attic
✅ Gaps around ducts and pipes through floors and walls
Caulk or foam those gaps first, then add insulation.

Where does your house feel draftiest when the cold hits? 👇

Not every roof has a playground on top of it. 🛝

Our crew is installing a brand-new roof under this rooftop playground in Minneapolis: a fresh membrane edge to edge, with the parapet walls wrapped and sealed so the kids up top and everyone below stay dry for years to come.

Install in progress, more to come! 👷‍♂️
