🏡 FED HOLDS RATES STEADY—WHAT DOES THIS MEAN FOR HOMEBUYERS?
The Federal Reserve kept its benchmark rate unchanged today, October 28, at 3.75%–4.00%.
Why can buyers still see a positive side?
✅ No additional Fed rate increase at this meeting—a welcome pause for borrowers.
✅ You can still find ways to improve your buying numbers. Negotiated seller credits may help cover eligible closing costs, subject to loan limits and seller agreement.
✅ Shopping mortgage options matters. Comparing rates, fees, and total costs can help you find financing that fits your budget.
📌 Important: The Fed’s benchmark rate is NOT a mortgage rate. Mortgage rates can still rise or fall, and today’s announcement doesn’t guarantee lower payments.
My advice: Build your plan around a payment you can comfortably afford today. Consider taxes, insurance, HOA fees, and maintenance—not just the interest rate.
