💡 Not every repair is worth making before you sell.
Sellers often ask me if they should renovate the kitchen before listing. Usually, the answer is no.
What tends to pay off is the unglamorous stuff. Fresh paint in a neutral tone. Fixing the leaky faucet and the sticky door. Cleaning the carpets. Trimming back the landscaping so the front of the house looks cared for. These are small investments that shape a buyer's first impression.
What usually does not pay off is a major remodel right before listing. You rarely recoup the full cost, and buyers often have their own vision anyway.
The right answer depends on your home and your neighborhood, and that is something I am glad to look at with you before you spend a dollar.
