We're constantly talking about how Carrot websites are based on years of research and data to figure out what works best. Well, that's not just talk!

You've likely heard the name CarrotLabs pop up now and again. That's our pet project where we dig into data from our thousands of sites to figure out what's working. We also test hypotheses about things we think might help or that our members ask for. We're not just making recommendations because we think it's best. We want real, hard data to show us what's best.

If that data says we need to change something about the way Carrot sites are redesigned, then we'll change it!

With that in mind, I wanted to share some of the things we'll be testing next.

FORM VS. PHONE IN THE HERO
As we expand to support home service providers (like plumbers, electricians, HVAC, etc.), we're asking ourselves if leading with a form in the hero is the best option for conversion for these industries. We know forms in the hero are definitely the top performers for real estate pros, but we don't want to assume it's the same for every industry. So we're doing some form versus phone hero CTA tests to make sure Carrot sites are built for top conversion rate optimization for every industry we serve.

MOBILE HEADER BUTTONS
Do big buttons at the top of the page work on mobile, or are they clunky and a poor user experience? That's what we're going to find out! We'll measure key performance metrics from mobile visits when a large button appears in the header versus a more streamlined mobile header.

It will likely be a few months before we have the results, but as soon as they're in we'll let you know!
