✨ Confessions of a Host ✨

Running short-term rentals isn’t all fresh linens and happy check-ins. Sometimes it’s messy, wild, and downright unbelievable. This series pulls back the curtain and shares the bad, the ugly, and the just plain gross stories from behind the scenes of hosting.

From shocking guest habits to the things we never thought we’d have to clean up, we’re spilling it all - because if we don’t laugh about it, we might cry. And through it all, our cleaning teams are the real superheroes; tackling the chaos, staging homes back to perfect, and saving the day more times than we can count.

Check out our previous confessions posts and stay tuned for more stories you won’t believe (but unfortunately, we lived through).

Hello, October! 🎃

Believe it or not, October is one of our busiest months of the year! Between bikers hitting the trails, fall breaks, football weekends, and finally some cooler weather, there’s a lot to love about an October getaway. AND we really love when our owners add a few seasonal touches to make their properties feel a little extra festive for guests.

Here’s to more 5-star stays, happy guests, and cozy nights at our Hidden JEM properties.

It’s been a while, so let us reintroduce ourselves! 👋

We’re Josh & Kelsey, the husband-and-wife team behind Hidden JEM Hosting; with our three little helpers who have grown up right alongside this business.

What started with our own investment properties and a love for real estate has grown into managing 30+ short-term rentals for owners across Northwest Arkansas and Northeast Oklahoma.

Josh handles client relationships, high-level operations, and keeps us moving toward the bigger vision for HJH. Kelsey works behind the scenes with marketing & design, social media, and all the little details that help bring that vision to life. And somewhere in between, we’re raising these three girls and love spending our free time together - biking, lake days, adventuring out on the land, and who doesn’t love a game of Mahjong!

Our goal has never been to manage the most properties. We want to manage the right homes, for the right people, really well. That means creating great experiences for guests while building trusting, respectful relationships with the owners who allow us to care for their homes.

We’re incredibly thankful for what this little family business has become - and even more excited about where it’s headed.

So whether you’ve been following along for years or you’re new here, hi! We’re the Difanis and we’re glad you’re here.

08/21/2026

We've never wanted to grow just for the sake of growing. We'd rather do it right than do it fast - taking on properties we believe in and making sure we have the time, team, and resources to give our guests the experience they deserve.

The same goes for our owners. We value relationships built on trust, communication, mutual respect, and mutual effort. Not every property or every partnership will be the right fit, and that's okay.

For us, success isn't about managing the most homes. It's about managing the right homes, for the right people, really well.

This is what you’ll get when we host your property.
