One thing I wish more people understood about Mid-Century Modern homes? You don't have to make everything new to make it beautiful.

The wood paneling. The original built-ins. The breeze blocks. The terrazzo floors. The big windows that bring the outdoors in.

These details weren't mistakes waiting to be remodeled. They were part of the vision. 🤎

Of course, not every original feature needs to stay, and every home deserves to function for the way we live today. But I believe there's something special about preserving the details that give a home its soul.

When you're buying an older home, look beyond what needs updating and pay attention to what would be impossible to recreate.

Good design doesn't expire.

When someone says Mid-Century (or more specifically Mid-Century Modern), they're referring to a design movement that became popular roughly between 1945 and 1969, following World War II.

The style is known for:

- Clean, simple lines with very little ornamentation.
- Natural materials, especially walnut and teak wood.
- Large windows that bring the outdoors in.
- Open floor plans and functional spaces.
- Organic and geometric shapes, often with bold patterns.
- A mix of warm wood tones with white, black, and pops of colors like mustard yellow, olive green, teal, rust, or burnt orange.
