More affordable housing has taken the next step forward in Frederick.

The 145-home community Conifer is developing at 585 Himes Avenue has received Planning Commission approval, marking an important step in our partnership with Frederick County to expand access to quality, affordable homes.

This week, Conifer joined housing and economic development leaders from across New Jersey at the 2026 Governor’s Conference on Housing and Economic Development in Atlantic City.

Representing Conifer were Norma Padilla, Noah Freiberg, Max Friedman, and Janine Owens, who spent two days connecting with colleagues and partners, sharing ideas, and discussing the opportunities and challenges shaping the future of affordable housing.

As the conference celebrated its 30th anniversary, it provided an important opportunity to come together around a shared goal: creating and preserving high-quality affordable housing and strengthening the communities we serve.
