This one is extra special to me. ❤️

For over 15 years, my grandparents called this house home, and it holds so many wonderful memories for our family. They absolutely loved living here, not just because of the house itself, but because of the community. It's one of those neighborhoods where neighbors genuinely look out for one another, and that’s something you don't find everywhere.

Tucked away in a quiet cul-de-sac community of one-level homes in Cave Spring, this property offers the best of both worlds: a peaceful residential setting with everyday conveniences just minutes away. Kroger (and the new Publix!) are only a three-minute drive!

And here's what makes this opportunity even more special: this is the first home to hit the market in this community in over TWO years!

If you or someone you love has been thinking about downsizing but wants to stay in Cave Spring, this could be the perfect fit.

I'm so excited to help this home find its next owners and become the backdrop for a whole new chapter of memories. 🏡

If your home buying plan has been “I’m just going to wait until rates come down”… we might need a slightly better plan.

Because what exactly are we waiting for?

5%? 4%? Back to 3%?

And what happens if rates reach the number you’ve been waiting for, but thousands of other buyers have been waiting for that same number?

Lower rates could improve affordability, but they can also bring more buyers back into the market. That could mean more competition, fewer negotiating opportunities, and multiple offers becoming more common again.

That does not mean I think everyone should run out and buy a house right now.

I think you should buy when the numbers make sense for you.

Can you comfortably afford the monthly payment? Do you have the cash you’ll need beyond your down payment? Does buying fit your plans for the next several years? And if the answer is “not yet,” what needs to happen for that answer to become “yes”?

Maybe you need six months to save. Maybe you need to work on credit. Maybe you need to pay something down. Maybe you simply need to understand what buying at different price points would actually cost you.
Waiting isn't the problem.

Waiting without knowing what you're waiting for is.

If buying a home is in your 2027 plans, you don't have to have everything figured out yet! I'm here to help you talk through what that process could look like and where to start. Send me a message to get started.

The Roanoke Star hits differently this time of year.

I’ve been coming up here for as long as I can remember, and somehow the views never get old. Especially in the fall, when the mountains are showing off all their color!

This spot also holds a pretty special memory for me: it’s where my husband proposed back in 2020.

Whether you’ve lived in Roanoke your whole life or you’re new to the area, consider this your reminder to make a trip up Mill Mountain while the leaves are still putting on a show.

Sometimes the best places are the ones right in our own backyard.

She's cute, she's updated, and she's ready for her next chapter.

There's a lot to love about this Riverdale charmer, from the sunny living spaces and beautifully updated kitchen to the front porch that's practically begging for a morning coffee.

And with easy one-level living, a fenced backyard, and the greenway just a short walk away, she's got more than just good looks going for her.

The best part? She's move-in ready, so all that's left to do is make her yours!

A little bit of my story, in 30 seconds.

I grew up in Roanoke, but after college, I moved to New York City, where I spent the next decade building a life, meeting my husband, and gaining a whole new perspective on what “home” really means.

Eventually, that perspective led me right back to where I started. Coming home gave me a new appreciation for everything Roanoke has to offer. Today, it’s the place I choose to call home.

It’s also pretty special that my career now allows me to help other people find their place here, whether they’re putting down roots for the first time, moving across town, or beginning a new chapter.

I had so much fun sharing a little piece of my story in this new commercial. A big thank you to WSLS 10 for bringing it to life! Keep an eye out - you may see me pop up on your TV soon.

Same style. 45 years apart.

These two Roanoke homes were built in 1981 and 2026 and they’re a perfect example of how contemporary design continues to evolve over time.

They may look dramatically different, but look a little closer and you’ll find plenty of similarities.

Which version of contemporary do you prefer—1981 or 2026?

2026 • 5905 Cartwright Drive

If you love activewear and athleisure, this is one South Roanoke spot you’ll want to know about. ✨

Tucked just behind The Little Button on Crystal Spring Avenue, lume is a locally owned, women-owned boutique created by my friend Kara Hartman. She’s curated an amazing collection of women’s activewear brands you can’t shop anywhere else in Roanoke. Some of my favorites are Varley, Left on Friday and Splits59.

And while you can find these brands online, there’s something so nice about being able to shop locally, try everything on, and maybe discover a new favorite along the way.

Whether you’re headed to a workout or just appreciate a really good athleisure outfit, Lume is definitely worth a visit!

One of my favorite things about living in Roanoke is discovering places that tell a story.

Originally built in 1909 as the Virginian Railway Passenger Station, this beautifully restored landmark has been given a new purpose while preserving so much of the history that makes it special.

One of my favorite parts was seeing how each space has its own feel—from the elegant event hall to the hidden speakeasy tucked right beside it. It was such a fun reminder that some of Roanoke’s most interesting places are the ones you might not know about yet.

It’s one of those places that reminds me just how much history and charm Roanoke has if you know where to look.

Have you been here before?

The Tudor homes we recognize today are actually part of the Tudor Revival movement—a style inspired by the charm and character of English country villages.

With their dramatic rooflines, decorative half-timbering, detailed masonry, and distinctive personalities, these homes are truly designed to stand apart.

Tudor Revival homes may be more than a century old, but their timeless character and unmistakable curb appeal still make them one of my favorite architectural styles to spot around Roanoke.

Are you a fan of Tudor-style homes?

Thank you kindly to Susan Bailey with Long & Foster for allowing me access inside this gorgeous home (which is still listed for sale as of the date of this post)!

Some places become part of a community’s story, and Katie’s Ice Cream is definitely one of them.

This was my very first job when I was 16 years old, so every visit brings back a lot of memories. More than 30 years later, Katie’s is still a Cave Spring favorite and one of my go-to spots on a hot summer day.

If you’re looking for a little summer treat, this place is always worth the stop.

Have you been to Katie’s this summer? And if you have a favorite flavor, I’d love to hear it! 👇

P.S. If you’re one of my LoLo members, don’t forget to use your Katie’s Ice Cream offer! And if you’d like to receive future perks from local businesses like this, send me a message and I’ll get you added.
