🏡 The family that built this 1928 house owned the ground under Victoria Club.

📜 Their grandfather signed the map in 1901.
⛳ Their father helped found the club in 1903.
🔔 And in 1949 the Mission Inn’s widow moved in and ran the hotel company from the living room. The 1950 census proves it.
Mom and I spent two months in the archives for this one. Library of Congress, UC Riverside, the National Archives, the county recorder. Every source is credited at the end.

Rates are over 7%. Here is what the headline leaves out.

Buyers: you have the most negotiating power you have had in five years. Closing costs, repairs, and rate buydowns are all back on the table. A seller credit toward buying your rate down moves your payment about twice as far as the same money off the price. Almost nobody asks for it.

Sellers: inventory here is down about 19% from last year, so you have less competition than the news says. And nobody is touring homes for fun at 7.4%. Everyone walking through your door is serious.

The day rates drop, all of it goes away. You can refinance a rate. You cannot refinance a price.
