MEET THE TEAM | AMY RAABE Amy Raabe

The one who keeps everything running behind the scenes, wears about a hundred different hats, and somehow makes it all look easy. Meet Amy, our Operations Manager!

Amy has been an essential part of the Accardo Real Estate Associates team since 2019, but her real estate experience goes all the way back to 2002, when she started working in escrow. She earned her real estate license in 2008 and has been putting her industry knowledge, organization, and problem-solving skills to work ever since.
But there’s a lot more to Amy than real estate!

Originally from Calabasas, Amy traded the Valley heat for the South Bay’s coastal breeze. She’s passionate about giving back, from volunteering internationally with Habitat for Humanity and Baja Bound to leading her daughter’s Girl Scout troop, organizing kid hikes, and helping out in the classroom.

And here’s something you probably didn’t know: During maternity leave in 2021, Amy started growing microgreens and even turned her new hobby into a farmers market business! She’s still growing today and sharing her green thumb over at JEAN’S MICROGREENS.

When she’s not keeping our team organized, volunteering, or tending to her garden, there’s a good chance you’ll find her dancing.

We’re lucky to have Amy as such an important part of AREA, and we couldn’t do what we do without her!

Did you know one of the South Bay’s most scenic coastal parks was once home to a glamorous Hollywood beach club?

Nearly 100 years ago, the Hollywood Riviera was envisioned as a seaside escape for Hollywood’s elite. Think Mediterranean-inspired homes, winding hillside streets, sweeping ocean views, and a lifestyle modeled after the French Riviera.

But the story gets even more interesting.

In 1931, the Hollywood Riviera Beach Club opened overlooking Torrance Beach, complete with a swimming pool and a front-row seat to the Pacific.

Then, in 1958, a devastating fire destroyed the club. It was never rebuilt, and the site eventually became what we know today as Miramar Park.

The most surprising part? The beach below earned the nickname “Burnout Beach,” a name longtime South Bay locals still recognize today.

From its Hollywood ambitions to its distinctive architecture, the Riviera has a history that even some longtime residents may not know.

Meet Marina Accardo, this week’s highlight in our AREA Meet the Team series ✨

Canadian roots, Italian heart. I’m a wife to Tony, mom of three, and happiest when my family and friends are around.

I care about staying healthy and looking and feeling good, but I’m also very happy with nachos, pasta, anything salty, and a late-night bowl of cereal in bed. It’s called balance.

I love music, trips to Italy, and cooking for the people I love. And I LOVE to BBQ. Friday nights call for an Old Fashioned with extra cherries. I can appreciate doing absolutely nothing, although I usually find something to do before I get very far with that.

Taking pictures, telling stories, and beautiful design light me up. Natural finishes and expressive marble always catch my eye. Some people have a camera roll full of selfies. Mine has a lot of stone. My personal style is casual, but I like to make an impression.

Something you might not know about me: I played rugby in high school and university. That probably explains some of the grit and protective instinct. If you’re one of my people, I’m in your corner.

I lead with optimism, speak up when it matters, and follow through. Whether I’m showing up for my family or helping clients create a home that feels like them, I care deeply about getting it right.
