Just for fun, here’s my latest AI creation; REDDING AFTER MIDNIGHT, a Halloween song and music video built from Redding, Connecticut's folklore, ghosts, legends, and dark history.
I wanted to stitch the town’s folklore into one haunting narrative: the wire‑mill workers who fell into the acid pits and dissolved, the railroad man killed near Simpaug Turnpike, the British spy and the Continental soldier hanged on Gallows Hill, the strange Frog People of local lore, and the couple swept away when their car went off Diamond Hill Road Bridge during the 1955 flood. Their stories blend with the restless spirits of Umpawaug Cemetery, the ghostly soldiers said to wander Putnam Park, and the creature in Devil’s Den that screams like a woman in mortal danger.
Folklore is often exaggerated, but it usually carries a grain of truth, little fragments that hint at real events, real people, and sometimes even real places worth exploring, especially if you’re into metal detecting. Imagine discovering a relic that could be tied to folklore.
If you know any other Redding folklore, drop them in the comments. I’d love to hear them.
