Clocks fall back Sunday, Nov 1. Before bed Saturday, a quick checklist for your home in Red Wing, MN:

✅ Test every smoke and CO alarm.
✅ Check the dates: smoke alarms get replaced every 10 years, CO alarms about every 5 to 7.
✅ Sealed 10-year alarm chirping? Replace the whole alarm. Hardwired ones need a new backup battery once a year.
✅ Get the furnace and chimney inspected, and keep space heaters 3 feet from anything that can burn.

Agents: steal this. The winter listing-prep checklist I’d give every seller.

1. Fix the obvious (and get the furnace serviced, with a record)
2. Clean and declutter
3. Every light on, curtains open
4. Clear the way in: shovel, salt, house numbers visible
5. Skip the big remodel until you’ve talked it through

4 seller myths I hear every fall in Red Wing, MN. Save this one. 📌

Myth 1: Nobody buys a house in November.
247 homes sold in Red Wing over the last 12 months. Buyers looking in winter are usually serious buyers.

Myth 2: Wait for spring.
Spring is when everyone else lists. More homes for sale means more competition for yours.

Myth 3: Price high, you can always come down.
Red Wing sellers received 98% of their original list price on average in September. Pricing right from day one is how you get there.

Myth 4: The house has to be perfect.

247 homes sold in Red Wing, MN in the last 12 months. That's up 14.4% from 216 the year before.

So if you've heard "nobody's buying right now," that's not what the Red Wing numbers say. Buyers are still out there.

A few more from September: homes sold for about $163 per square foot, and sellers received 98% of their original list price.
