We were just up at The Perch getting the house buttoned up for winter, which might quietly be our absolute favorite season up here in Rangeley. ❄️

Every couple of months, we head up between guests with our 16-month-old to clear the gutters, make small upgrades to keep the cabin extra cozy, and get some quiet family time in. Every time we pull into the driveway, we’re reminded why we fell in love with this place.

We recently hired a fly fishing guide and spent a morning deep in the Maine woods with friends and an experienced local guide. Huge thanks to the crew at Rangeley Region Sport Shop for showing us the ropes, literally tying the flies and everything.

There's really nothing like having a local show you a new part of the Rangeley Lakes Region. New spots, better stories, and zero chance of us finding that fishing spot on our own. 🌲

If you're staying with us and want a Maine morning you'll actually remember, we cannot recommend this enough. 🎣

We have your fall trip planned, and it is heavy on home-cooked meals with a lake view, s'mores & w**e by the fire, and slow mornings cozied up with coffee in bed. ☕

Insider tip: Come in late September, early October. The leaves pop off early here. 😉🍂

We are heavy on this vibe for the rest of the summer. Phone on do not disturb. Sunset kayaks watching the sun slowly fall behind the mountains. Moonlit dips in the lake. 🌙 Coming back to the house good tired from a day in the sun. 💤
