Some homes make you stop scrolling. These made me stop and take in every detail.

I cried most of the eight-hour drive to North Carolina. Now, I can’t imagine my life any other way❤️

I don’t talk about my personal story often, or exactly what brought me here, but I get asked all the time. Truthfully, there are a lot of answers I could give. What it comes down to is this: I knew where God wanted me to go, I listened, and I made my way.

I still remember saying goodbye to my siblings, little nephew and niece, and getting in the car to start this next chapter by myself. It rained for most of the drive, and I cried right along with it.

Then I saw the North Carolina state sign, and the sky broke open. Carolina blue. Some of the clearest skies I’d ever seen. And somewhere between the tears and that state line, I found myself smiling.

Moving to a new state and rebuilding my real estate career from scratch came with plenty of ups and downs. But through all of it, I’ve learned so much, and I feel so blessed to be where I am today. I would do it all over again. I wouldn’t change a single thing that brought me here.

I still drive north four or five times a year to see the people I love. It still feels like home. Both places do. But my roots are here now, and I know this is where I’m meant to be.

Ch*****ne taste? Let’s make sure the building budget got the memo✨

If keeping costs low is your biggest priority, going fully custom probably wouldn’t be my first recommendation. I love a dream-home wish list, but we have to set realistic expectations for what it takes to bring it to life.

Those vaulted ceilings, oversized windows, custom millwork, statement staircases, natural stone finishes, and seamless indoor-outdoor spaces? They come with a price tag beyond the pretty inspiration photo.

It’s 2026, and your budget needs to reflect what those details cost to build today. With so many possibilities in architecture, materials, and design, there’s also a lot more room to fall in love with something you hadn’t even considered.

But if you have flexibility in your budget and thoughtful design is the priority? Let’s talk about building a home around the details you love—and the way you actually live.

What you’ve heard about buying a home might not apply in North Carolina🏡

Contingencies come up pretty frequently with my out-of-state clients, especially those who need to sell their current home before buying their next one. And that’s often when we have the “things work a little differently here” conversation.

NC’s standard purchase contract doesn’t automatically make your purchase contingent on selling your current home. A home-sale contingency can be negotiated, but it requires an appropriately drafted addendum and the seller’s agreement signed by all parties involved.

Between real estate shows, social media, and national headlines, it’s easy to assume the process looks the same everywhere. But every state handles things differently, and North Carolina’s due diligence process can be a big adjustment.

Yes, you need to do your homework. But your REALTOR® should be walking you through these nuances, your options, and the financial risks long before you go under contract. That’s why I conduct a buyer consultation with all my clients before we ever step foot into our first showing.

Okay, I am OBSESSING over Knightdale, NC, and I just can’t stop talking about it!

And it’s not just the new construction homes catching my attention. It’s the amount of growth happening throughout the town—from new residential communities to expanding commercial developments, businesses, and all the opportunities that come with them.

You’re approximately 30 minutes or less from Downtown Raleigh, depending on where you live and traffic, and the variety of new construction opportunities is seriously impressive.

We’re talking amenity-rich neighborhoods, wooded homesites with room to breathe, and everything from custom and semi-custom homes to more traditional production builds at a variety of price points.

Whether you’re a first-time buyer, relocating to the Triangle, or looking to build something a little more personalized, Knightdale deserves a spot on your radar.
