✨ Honesty and optimism can coexist. And in real estate, I believe they should.

Something I’ve been thinking about lately is how much pressure there can be in this industry to always put a positive spin on things.

The reality is that real estate isn’t always sunshine and sold signs. Markets change, challenges arise, and sometimes the most valuable thing I can offer my clients isn’t reassurance that everything will work out exactly as they’d hoped. It’s an honest assessment of the situation in front of them, along with practical strategies to address the challenges they face.

I was having a conversation with one of my buyers today and mentioned that I sometimes worry my realistic perspective might come across as negative on social media. Their response genuinely meant a lot to me. They told me that my honesty was actually one of the reasons they chose to work with me.

It was a reminder that being realistic doesn’t mean being pessimistic.

I’m someone who values research, data, and understanding the “why” behind what’s happening in the market. I pay attention to economic trends, listen to experienced industry professionals, and believe there’s always more to learn. I also recognize the importance of knowing the limits of my expertise and when to encourage clients to consult other qualified professionals like their lender or the county building department.

I don’t have a crystal ball, and I won’t pretend to.

What I can offer is thoughtful guidance, transparency, and a willingness to have the conversations that aren’t always easy.

Because ultimately, my job isn’t to convince someone that every market is a great market or that every house is the right house.

🏡 A little mortgage rate update!

While mortgage rates are still higher than we’d all like, we’ve seen some encouraging movement over the past few days!

As of today, the average 30-year fixed mortgage rate is sitting at 7.37%, according to Mortgage News Daily.

The good news? We’re seeing some improvement from where rates were just a couple of weeks ago. While we’re certainly not out of the woods yet, it’s a reminder that the market is constantly changing.

My advice? Don’t feel pressured to buy or sell based on headlines alone. The right time to make a move depends on your finances, your goals, and what makes sense for your life.
