I’ve lived in Oregon long enough to know that each of its cities has their own personality.

Having called more than a few of these cities home over the years, I feel like I’ve earned the right to call a few of these costumes.

Ghosts or not, there can be some real horror stories at different times of year if you are living in Hillsboro or the surrounding areas.

For me it’s being kept awake during Garlic Fest weekend because I’m listening to bad covers of some of my favorite songs.

Yes, I said what I said.

What are some of the things you consider horror stories living here? Share them in the comments because I want to know what I’m missing.

You could absolutely buy or sell it yourself. People do it all the time, but…..

What’s the real cost of DIY-ing it:

Selling:

It's the weeks on market with no feedback and no idea why.
It's the price that felt right and the appraisal that naw that ain’t right.
It's answering all the calls yourself and having to take time off work to be home when someone wants to see your home.

Buying:

It’s the potential of not having access to all of the homes on the market thanks to “exclusive listings” being a thing right now.
It’s not knowing who to call when it’s time for the inspection.
It’s the trying to figure out all of the forms and documents needed when buying a home

AND so much more.

When we work together you’ll get:

A price built on the closed sales in your neighborhood and current market data, not a website estimate.
Photos, copy and a marketing plan that runs on a calendar, not on vibes.
Someone who calls the other agent back the same day (this goes for both sides).
When we tour a home I’m looking at the things that could be an issue in an inspection report, not just how cute the home is.
I’m there to remind you of that deal breaker list you had when a home has everything but backs up to railroad tracks when you want quiet.

So sure you could do it all yourself but why would you want to when you can have someone by your side to help make the process a little less stressful.

I am so NOT the person to follow if you’re trying not to move to Hillsboro. 😅

The more I show you how quick it is to feel like you’re out in the country, how nice it is to go for a walk in the Jackson School neighborhood, and what everyday life here actually looks like, the harder it is to keep pretending you’re “just browsing.”

That’s how it always starts. Then suddenly you’ve saved three neighborhoods, sent a listing to your group chat, and started checking flights to come visit and I can show you around.

First things first, the Zestimate isn’t totally useless unless you’re taking it as the gospel for what your home is worth. Trust me when I say there’s a difference between reality and the algorithm. So, when you get ready to list your home (or buy one) remember that sometimes those bits of advice you’ve been hearing might actually be a lie, and if you’re not sure my DMs are always open or you can use the link in my bio for a 15 min quick take call to ask me.
